Wild black pepper comes from the central highlands of Vietnam, from Pleiku. The pepper berries grow wild in the surrounding rainforests , which has given it the nickname jungle pepper . It is picked by the Bazan , an indigenous people , which makes it a real speciality.

Because of its scent, it is also called lemon pepper . Connoisseurs will recognize similarities with Sichuan and Kampot pepper from Cambodia.
